Brand promotion: this article introduces Guangsuan's keyword research guidance and Google SEO service. It is a vendor introduction, not an independent review.
Short answer for an attribution review: when Semrush and Keyword Planner show different monthly figures for one phrase, pause the budget call and log how each figure was produced. Note country, language, network, month window and whether plurals were folded together. Only figures with matched settings can be placed side by side, and the planning choice should still work at the smaller band.
What makes one phrase show two figures
Keyword Planner exposes Google's historical search estimates in an advertising-planning tool.
Third-party vendors can use different inputs and models, so check the method for the metric you compare rather than assuming a shared panel.
Some tools group close variants and near-plurals; others separate them. When two spellings land on one shared line, that line describes a grouped set, not two separate pools. Do not add each variant's shared volume as if it represented a separate pool of demand.
Keyword Planner may display ranges or rounded figures, while third-party volumes have their own sources and models. A tidy digit on screen does not turn either output into a precise headcount.
History and trading signals live in different columns. Past search behavior is one thing; predicted clicks, auction pressure and a vendor difficulty grade are other things. Keep them apart so a bid figure never reads as proof that a page will rank.
Put both runs on the same market footing
Before any table, copy these five lines for each source exactly as shown in the tool:
- Country or area chosen for that pull, listed apart from language
- Language option plus search network coverage
- Month span covered and the date you pulled it
- How near-plurals and rewordings were handled
- Whether the value is past behavior or a forward estimate
A global pull and a one-country pull are not the same audience. An English string and its translated twin are not the same keyword. A full-year mean and a single high month can argue for opposite spend. Where any line differs, run the pair again with aligned options instead of picking the larger digit.
Where only wide overlapping bands survive, those bands cannot rank two terms in fine order. Ask instead whether the bottom edge still covers a request worth serving.
A repeatable pass an attribution team can run
Open with records you own. Pull Search Console queries with property, dates, query type, country and device kept on the export. The report shows where your property was seen under those filters, with privacy and row caps applied. A missing line may mean filtering rather than zero interest.
Read direction on its own. Place the shortlist in Google Trends with matched place and dates across several years. Mark rising, level or seasonal movement and the peak stretch. Trends helps with timing, not with a monthly headcount.
Store Planner bands with their full setting note. Keep past searches away from forward estimates. Use a single outside vendor steadily for side-by-side feel, and keep its difficulty grade apart from the volume band.
Open two or three live pages in the buying market. Record the leading format and whether your planned page fits that job. A thin band with loose or off-task pages can merit one bounded test. A wide band already served by strong matching pages stays low priority.
Close with a named call. Go needs matched settings, steady or rising direction, room in results, and a low band that still reaches a buyer. Test means one page in one market while one scope point stays open. Hold means direction falls with strong answers in place, or the gap stays large and unexplained, so log it as unknown with an owner and a revisit date.
Teaching sketch, not measurements
The rows below are invented to show record shape only:
- Term A: rising seasonal direction, middle bands on both sides, weak matching pages, outcome test one bounded page ahead of peak.
- Term B: level direction, low band on one side and high on the other, mixed commercial pages, outcome hold until place and grouping are rechecked.
- Term C: falling direction, high bands on both sides, strong well-matched answers, outcome hold despite the wide band.
Term B carries the lesson: while sources point apart, the honest status is unknown until the setting question closes.
Where Guangsuan fits
Guangsuan frames Google SEO as technical repair, page content and managed external resources reviewed against Search Console where project data exists.
The stepwise source reading behind this note is set out in Guangsuan's walkthrough on cross-checking conflicting keyword volume data. How the three work groups are scoped is shown on the Google SEO service page.
FAQ
Should the two digits be averaged?
No. A mean hides the setting or grouping split. Line up the five setting lines first.
Can Search Console stand in for market sizing?
No. It reports your own visibility under your filters, not the whole market.
Does a wider band always deserve the page?
No. Buyer intent, page fit and what you can evidence count with the band. When the smaller band still covers a useful request, the split does not block the call.
